9:00 AM Everything You Always Wanted to Know about IBMLink...and More! - Part I
In the final chapter of recent service related CAVMEN presentations, the speaker will provide a detailed look into the world of online support function provided by IBM. Focusing primarily on the IBMLink products, he will be reviewing all of the major service related functions, including the proper techniques for searching out APAR's and ordering VM PTF's online. Also discussed will be the differences in the various flavors of IBMLink, and how they relate to the function provided by the Tech Support website, which was discussed in the April CAVMEN meeting. The speaker will also address some of the recent service related confusion seen on the VM LISTSERV, and clarify IBM's future direction in this area.

1:45 PM z/VM Version 4 Platform Update
Come hear the latest about z/VM Version 4. On May 13th, IBM announced the newest release of z/VM, Version 4 Release 4, along with the new z990 mainframe server. This presentation will offer you an overview of the extensive new function found in z/VM V4.4. Discover the goodies this new release offers before it becomes generally available on August 15th.

This session will provide a high-level description of the new z990 server. There are some notable differences between the z990 and the z900....find out what they are.

Members will attempt to answer any reasonable VM or hardware related questions. If you are having a problem and want to find out if others are experiencing it, or you are installing new hardware or software and want to find out what types of problems others have experienced, here is the place to find out.
Members are encouraged to bring ideas for future presentations and speakers to this meeting.
